cognitive-behavioral techniques. It is designed to reduce symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and behavioral problems, as well as to improve functioning, grades and attendance, peer and parent support, and coping skills.<\/p><p>CBITS has been used with students in grades 5\u201312 who have witnessed or experienced traumatic life events, such as community and school violence, accidents and injuries, physical abuse and domestic violence, and natural and human-made in CBITS have significantly reduced symptoms of posttraumatic stress, depression, and psychosocial dysfunction. CBITS is composed of 10 group sessions and one to three individual sessions with students, with optional opportunities for parent involvement and educational outreach to teachers. Since 2001, CBITS has been implemented across the United States and abroad, and it is actively disseminated through SAMHSA\u2019s National Child Traumatic Stress Network.<\/p><p>CBITS has been adapted in a number of ways. Versions for use with low-literacy groups and children in foster care are available, and the program has been translated into Spanish and Arabic. More recently, the Center for Resiliency, Hope, and Wellness released <a href=\"https:\/\/dm0gz550769cd.cloudfront.net\/cbitsdelp\/92\/92665acd7801fb5a2cb35cc45f56b3bc.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBITS for American Indian Youth\u200b<\/a>, an adaptation that\u00a0weaves\u00a0in culturally appropriate and meaningful concepts about resilience and healing while maintaining the program&#8217;s\u00a0core cognitive-behavioral skill-building techniques.<\/p><p>CBITS has also been modified for delivery by nonclinicians in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/traumaawareschools.org\/index.php\/learn-more-sset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">variety of settings (SSET)<\/a>\u00a0and for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/traumaawareschools.org\/index.php\/learn-more-bounce-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">younger elementary school students (Bounce Back)<\/a>.\u200b<\/p>                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"tab-pane elementkit-tab-pane elementor-repeater-item-00f52ae \" id=\"content-00f52ae69e3dc2c077c0\" role=\"tabpanel\"\n                         aria-labelledby=\"content-00f52ae69e3dc2c077c0-tab\">\n                        <div class=\"animated fadeIn\">\n                            <p>Clinicians can receive CBITS training through several formats: live trainings (in person or virtual) and online.
